Kodungallur Bagavathy - An amsam of Kannagi

After kannagi burnt Madurai for erroneous judgement which killed her husbandn she came with lot of ugram and sat here. She is the amsam of all bghavathies and is sitting south facing. Diets always face the Sun either east or west and don't face south. In the same nada is another roopam of ambal and she is facing east. The temple also houses a balakan who is ever growing.
