Goshala - Cow Shed

Govindhapuram 12KM from Kumbakonam is the samathi of one of the Shankaracharya's. This place also hosts a Goshala, Goshala is the place where they keep and maintain cows in better Tamil terms "Mattu Thozhuvam". I have seen many such places but this is one of the best maintained. There are 200 cows here and maybe 50% of them are got from madhura and it is believed that their lineage is of the same cows that Krishna took care of. See their Ears.
